Sonoma County: Deputies arrest man who allegedly choked girlfriend

A Washington state man has been arrested in Sonoma County on suspicion of attempted murder and felony domestic battery after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, sheriff's officials said.

At about 10:15 a.m. Monday, deputies responded to a report that the victim of a domestic violence incident that had occurred in Forestville was at the Santa Rosa Police Department, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.

Missing woman found, 2 men arrested after Forestville standoff

A missing 19-year-old woman was found and a wanted felon considered “armed and dangerous” was taken into custody without incident Saturday after a Sonoma County Sheriff's Office SWAT team and an armored vehicle swarmed around a Forestville-area home, officials said.

About 50 law enforcement officers responded to the scene, with firefighters and an ambulance standing by, as hostage negotiators ultimately got the wanted man and the property owner to come out of the house in the 9400 block of Westside Road south of Old River Road, Sheriff's Lt. Tim Duke said....

Wild chase ends in suicide of Santa Rosa man

A Santa Rosa man who broke into his ex-girlfriend's apartment and held her at gunpoint before she fought her way free late Thursday night took his own life after a wild chase and a slow-speed law enforcement pursuit on the outskirts of Windsor and Forestville, police said.
