COX: Tuscany in Forestville

Chef Francesco Torre's Canneti Roadhouse is named after a street in his home in Italy

The restaurant that was previously Mosaic in Forestville has changed. Now it's Canneti Roadhouse, with solid oak tables and a beautiful backyard for dining al fresco. Chef and owner Francesco Torre has done a fine job with the décor.

$5 dinner specials in Sebastopol/Forestville, and no, it’s not Subway


Beaudry’s Roadhouse has been making a bit of a buzz since it opened before Christmas between Sebastopol and Forestville, taking over the former Henweigh Café space, which itself replaced the former Elmo’s Steakhouse two years ago.

But what’s getting the locals really lining up is the $5 Wednesday specials, when chef-owner Frank Stephenson sends out hamburgers, spaghetti marinara, turkey burgers, pulled chicken or pork sandwiches, ribs, or whatever else strikes his fancy from 5 to 9 p.m. or until the kitchen runs out.

Backyard, a local sustainable restaurant located in Forestville, will be opening the first week of November in the old Sarah’s Forestville Kitchen location.  With their motto of highlighting the backyard of Sonoma County, the menu will feature meats from local ranchers, vegetables from local farms as well as wine and beer from Northern California.  Their style is rustic Sonoma County cuisine, with a bit of Mediterranean flair, prepared with amazing techniques...

We are looking for enthusiastic, professional staff to join our team. We are a sustainable, Sonoma County restaurant with a menu constantly changing with the seasons and local bounties. We desire strong team members, who can multi task, and adapt to constant change, as our menu will be changing DAILY. Must be an excellent communicators!
The following positions are open:
Chef de Partie: At least 2 years experience, or culinary school/training. Must posses strong leadership skills and a motivated, creative drive along with a high level of quality and consistency for the craft. Seasonal culinary experience, fine dinning and culinary school a plus!!!
Dishwashers: Fast paced, motivated, and dependable is a must!
Bussers: Multi task, self motivator, friendly, very fast paced. Food knowledge (or desire) a plus!
Hosts: Great disposition, friendly, able to multi task, self motivated, and great people person! food/wine/local area knowledge a plus!
Servers: At least 3 years experience. Fast paced, multi task, positive disposition, friendly, self motivator. Experience with POS systems, seasonal restaurant, wine/food knowledge a PLUS!
All staff is required to have a California food handlers permit.

Backyard to Crop Up in Forestville

...[Forestville] will soon be home to an ambitious new restaurant backed by a pair of chefs with serious culinary chops....the venture, which they envision will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, will take over the spot of the now-shuttered Sarah’s Forestville Kitchen which sports a large outdoor patio. Bite Club Eats reported here:
Also closed: Aioli Deli in Forestville. The quaint eatery served up killer crabcakes and made-to-order sandwiches, made by Chef Autumn Opitz. They’ll be missed.
Their website and Facebook pages are still up.
