Former SRJC president Agrella honored at benefit dinner
Robert Agrella, retired president of Santa Rosa Junior College, was honored for his 22-year tenure Saturday night at a benefit dinner and auction.
The event was held at the Warren G. Dutton Jr. Agriculture Pavilion at the SRJC Shone Farm near Forestville.

Japanese-American advocate James Murakami dies
James Fumio Murakami, a Santa Rosa engineer, was national president of the Japanese American Citizens League in the 1970s when the group launched the successful campaign for the U.S. government to pay redress to those interned during World War II.
Industrious until the end, Murakami died Saturday after he collapsed while helping his son change the oil in a tractor on his family's Laguna Road ranch near Forestville. He was 85.

Also closed: Aioli Deli in Forestville. The quaint eatery served up killer crabcakes and made-to-order sandwiches, made by Chef Autumn Opitz. They’ll be missed.Their website and Facebook pages are still up.

FORESTVILLE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT TO RECEIVE $124,416 FEMA FIREFIGHTING GRANT
The Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Homeland Security are pleased to announce that the grant application submitted under the FY 2011 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) has been approved for the Forestville Fire Protection District for a total award of $124,416.00.
