Dialogue on the proposed Forestville Roundabout at Mirabel and 116

This Saturday, June 15, 3-5p.m., Supervisor Efren Carrillo will host a dialogue on the proposed Forestville Roundabout at Mirabel and 116 at the El Molino High School’s gymnasium. Community members will be able to comment on the project. County staff will be available to answer questions. CalTrans staff have been invited to attend.

Pursuant to the CalTrans and County mandate that the intersection at Mirabel and 116 be upgraded due to increasing traffic, the FPA over the last three years has held several Town meetings in which Alan Tilton, a local resident and traffic professional, has explored options with us. The great majority of those who attended the meetings preferred a roundabout to a traditional multi-signaled intersection (based on research showing the cost, safety, traffic flow, and aesthetic advantages of roundabouts over traditional signaled intersections). Opponents are now arguing that an upgrade of that intersection is not needed; in addition they assert a roundabout is too costly, dangerous, and impractical for large trucks. Please attend this meeting and let your voice be heard. The decision on this issue will determine the whole future look of that end of our Town.
